Did you select “Remind me later” when you saw the “Set up Visma 2FA” prompt?
If so, this prompt will not reappear until you’ve logged in a few times. If you’d like to set up Visma 2FA now, you can do so by following the steps below.
It is recommended that you perform these steps on a device other than your phone, as you will need to scan a QR code with your phone.
Step 1
Go to https://home.visma.com and log in with your email address and password.
Step 2
Once you’re logged in, you can open a dropdown menu by clicking your name in the top-right corner.
Select “My Account” from the menu.
Step 3
On the next screen, scroll down and under “Password & 2FA,” select
“Enable two-step verification.”
Step 4
After selecting “Enable two-step verification,” the login screen will reappear.
Enter your password again here.
The process to enable two-step verification will now begin.
Step 5
After re-entering your password, a pop-up will appear with the message “Add an extra layer of security.”
Here, you can choose from:
Remind me later – you can set this up at a later time (no later than July 1, 2026)
Enable – you can start the setup immediately
Click ‘Enable’ to continue.
Step 6
The next screen will ask you to download the Visma Authenticator app.
Since you are already using an authenticator app, select ‘I use a different Authenticator app’.
Since you’re already using an authenticator app, select “I’m using a different authenticator app.”
For example, you can use Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
Then click “Next.”
Step 7
Open the authenticator app on your smartphone and add a new account.
In the Microsoft Authenticator app, you do this via the blue button in the bottom right corner with the QR icon.
In the Google Authenticator app, you do this via the plus button (+).
Then scan the QR code displayed in Nmbrs.
Having trouble scanning? In that case, you can select “Enter manually” in the app and use the long code located below the QR code.
After adding the account, a 6-digit code will automatically appear in the app. You can also customize the name of this code. You can follow the steps for this via the link in step 3: FAQ Microsoft Authenticator – Sigma Personeelsdiensten.
Click ‘Next’.
Step 8
Enter the 6-digit code from the Authenticator app and click ‘Next’.
If this doesn’t work, please refer to the FAQ about the Authenticator app: FAQ Microsoft Authenticator – Sigma Personnel Services.
Step 9 (optional)
You can now set up an SMS code as a backup method.
This step is not mandatory, but it is recommended in case you lose access to the Authenticator app. If you choose not to set this up, you can skip step 10.
Step 10
Enter the SMS code you received, and click ‘Next’.
Step 11
A backup code is now being generated.
You can use this code if you lose your phone, get a new phone number, or can no longer access the authenticator app.
Keep this code safe and confirm that you have saved it to continue.
If you have lost this code and no longer have access to the authenticator app, you can request a new code via: Een aanvraag indienen – Nmbrs Kennisbank.
Visma 2FA has now been successfully set up!
The next time you log in, enter a code from the authenticator app in addition to your password.
You can choose to remember this device for 30 days, so you won’t need to enter a code during this period.
Note: this is not recommended on public or shared computers.
